Sports and PPV on an IPTV Subscription

Live sport is why a lot of Canadian households try IPTV. Hockey, basketball, football, soccer, and combat sports sit in their own groups in the player. PPV-style events sit with them when they are on the lineup. The app does not hide them in a secret menu. Search the fight or the team, and also look in the sports group for that league.

A specific card can be missing, delayed, or on a backup channel with a slightly different name. That is normal on IPTV, and it is why we would rather you check during the trial, or ask us the week of the event, than assume every broadcast on earth is in the list.

What we need if it fails

Send the channel name as it appears in the app, the device, and the minute it failed. “Hockey doesn’t work” gives us nothing to check. “Sportsnet Ontario, Fire Stick, 7:12 p.m., froze after the anthem, backup channel is fine” gives us a target.

Have the renew done before a final, not during it. An expired username looks exactly like a stream that will not start. The player will not explain that clearly.

Picture quality on sport

Fast motion shows a weak Wi-Fi signal more than a news studio does. If sport is the reason you subscribed, test sport on the trial, at the real start time. A perfect news channel at lunch does not predict a Saturday night.

Ask us the day before a pay-per-view you care about, with the event name. We would rather confirm the group it sits in than have you searching at the bell. If it is not on the lineup that week, we will say so. A backup channel with a slightly different title is worth trying before you decide the event is missing. Sport is also the right trial programme. If Saturday night holds, the rest of the lineup is an easier conversation. Check the event on the trial, or ask us that week, before you plan a room around it.
